2003 The KTH Great Prize from KTH Royal Institute
       Of Technology

The citation was reading:
“Since the 60s, the public and artistic successes within Swedish film are in most cases deeply associated to successful technical work for strengthening the quality of the picture and sound. Film is an important part of Swedish culture and industry, and it has – except for eminent directors, scriptwriters and actors – a film corps of high international quality. The KTH Great Prize from the donation of 1944 is awarded to such people, cameraman Sven Nykvist and sound technician/sound mixer Owe Svensson. By their perceptiveness, experience and great technical know-how, their artistry has promoted our Swedish cultural heritage and contributed to Sweden's special position in the film world. The picture is what the eye sees, and the sound what the ear hears, and together they heighten and enrich our inner experience of the real multitude immediately. The photo of Sven Nykvist and the sound of Owe Svensson are both creations that become magic.”
